Annual Meeting AGD 2013 in Potsdam, October 11-12

Topic: The New Age of Comprehensive Testing

Dear Members and Friends of the AGD,

Since the advent of ‘Next Generation Sequencing’ (NGS) technologies many genomes have been sequenced and numerous discoveries were made. In particular in the fields of oncology and human genetics, the knowledge generated by the new technologies is of paramount importance and has begun to revolutionize the diagnostic practice. There is no doubt that the impact on our health system will be dramatic. But who and what will determine the pace at which these changes will occur?

You are cordially invited to participate in the 2013 AGD meeting, held in Potsdam on October 11 and 12, 2013. The meeting will address the above issues in four sessions:

Session 1 — NGS-based diagnostics in human genetics
Session 2 — Analyzing cell-free DNA from blood for prenatal and
                    tumor diagnostics
Session 3 — Personalized cancer therapy through oncogenomics
Session 4 — On the way toward a perfect reproduction

The scientific program can be downloaded here.

From the presentations given at the meeting and from the discussions, we expect fruitful impulses for future developments, not only in research but also in our health care systems.

We are convinced that the meeting program is very attractive, and that the excellent speakers will manage to inspire you and your future work. The pleasant atmosphere of the “Seminaris SeeHotel Potsdam” and of its surroundings at the Templiner See is ideally suited for such a high-profile scientific meeting.

We are looking forward to seeing you in Potsdam.

Sincerely yours,

Peter Propping
